I wrote the Ghost Cycle music in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The themes were all live, one-off, cassette tape-recorded performances on a Roland Juno 6, a Roland D20, and a Technics SX-K700. A few years ago, I converted the old cassette tapes into digital recordings, along with a heap of doodles and songs, and three concept albums, “StoneLore”, “The Kraken”, and this suite, “The Ghost Cycle”. In June 2024, I was diagnosed with testicular cancer and during chemotherapy, to keep my mind off the situation, I focused on music. The idea was that I could create something, somehow publish it, and donate all proceeds to Rosemere Cancer Foundation. It felt like “the right thing to do” with my time.
It was a lot of work, but ultimately very productive. Learning to polish themes I'd written decades ago. Learning to use AI for production, enhancing and rewriting lyrics. Learning Logic Pro, Synth V, ACE Studio and a heap of plugins and sound libraries.
In essence, these are all AI enhanced original works. I don't have the performing skills, but now can use Sibelius for harmonising, Logic Pro for instrumentation, Synth V for AI production quality vocals, and ACE Studio to polish and production quality end results.
A great hobby and the local choir has performed one of my songs ("The Last Journey Home") in their 2026 Summer Concert. I rewrote that as a duet for the two singers.
You can purchase the music on iTunes or Amazon Music - search for G Keith Still and you'll find several albums. I'm still working on "StoneLore" and "The Kraken" but have used a variety of themes I'd written, enhanced in ACE Studio, including words from Rabbie Burns and Sir Walter Scott (Search for the album Filidh).
In 2025 I was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer (caught early and treatable) so during Radiotherapy (AprilMay 2026) I remixed the entire suite of "The Ghost Cycle" using ACE Studio to enhance the themes, add instruments etc.etc. Again, keeping a positive metal attitude and losing myself in music, helped the healing and kept me busy.
You can buy the eBook (includes the 2026 music) from Apple Books (click here for link) there are a few samples below along with the art.
